- 1957 Chevy 210 Townsman Wagon
- Phase 2
- April 7th, 2002
As I am sure you can see I am making progress on my five seven. I now have
the motor and trans installed on the mounts. Do not get too excited, They are not yet ready to run. I presently have so much work to do I could
easily go off in a million directions at once. Of coarse if I did this I would never get anything
done.

My motor is a 350 Chevy V8 we took from a '74 Chevy 3/4 ton truck. The trans is a 700 R4 from an '86
Pontiac Fire bird.

I used the motor mounts and crossmember from Danchuk. Because I used the
Danchuk motor mounts does not mean that I recommend them. Had I known what a pain they are I would have made my own and saved myself $40.00 in the
end.
The transmission dipstick tube was the original Pontiac part that went through extensive modification in order to fit well in the car. I had to heat and bend the tube a little at a time until it worked. In all I think I have close to 2 hours in that one part. In the end it saved me a bunch of cash. Lokar makes one that would have fit but it was 75 bucks. And it would not make the car any faster.
I started to remove the gas tank. I have everything off now but discovered that I will have to remove the rear axel in order to get it
out.
Bummer!!
