- 1957 Chevy 210 Townsman Wagon
- What can I say about my car. To begin with I have wanted one for about 26
years. That s right I fell in love with the 57 at the tender age of 5 . I
remember it like it was yesterday. I was sitting in the car with my Dad and
I spotted one sitting across the street at the gas station. I asked my Dad
what it was and he told me that it was a '57 Chevy. I knew then that one day I would own one. I even remember it had black front fenders (most
likely primer) and was sea foam green. Not the best example of the classic
but it left a lasting impression.

I purchased this 1957 Chevy 210 6 pas. Townsman Station Wagon from Quaker Steak And Lube in Sharon PA back in July. It spent a good part
of the past 10 years of its life as an ornament for the business. I chose
the wagon not because of the current wagon craze but because I have always
admired wagons. Just ask my Wife.
When I got my car it was without a title. So I began looking for a title by calling the PA DMV. No dice! Never titled in PA! I tried Columbus. No
Dice! Never titled in Ohio! Now I had roughly 46 other States I could try. So I got smart and did my homework. I got a court ordered title. I
could not believe how easy it was. It made me sick to think of all the cars I saw cut up with the excuse "I don't have the title".
The idea for my car is that it is going to be a phantom. A car that the factory never built. My car is going to be a 150 4dr wagon. For some
reason Chevrolet never made this model. It is going to be a pro tour car.
With air ride suspension and 17" Aluminum wheels. The drive line is going
to consist of a 350 Chevy V8 and a 700 R4 Automatic. The rear end will be
a 10 bold most likely from a Chevy S-10 truck. It is also going to have power brakes with discs up front. I have a lot of work ahead of me and I
fully expect the project to take me about 5 years to complete with nearly all of the work being done by myself in my garage.
