1981 AMC Spirit

Chris Green from East Palestine has owned this 1981 AMC Spirit for about 2 years and has
already done quite a bit of work. The power train consists of a Chevy 400 small block, and
a Chevy transmission. The hood wouldn't quite shut and was therefore modified with
the hood scoop from a mustang.
After purchasing a distributor to prove the engine would run, a swap was made, then
Chris had to bring this bad boy home on a flatbed. The previous owner had it all torn up.
The next project: A new hood and paint job. What colors and design? Well Chris has some
ideas, but as time passes he gets more ideas. So, we'll see. The bumblebee look was the
front runner at the time of these photos.
